Professor Basu, and 4th year students from Environmental Engineering recently returned from a trip to Londigo, Tanzania where they are part of an interdisciplinary team (engineering, business, and industrial design) working in collaboration with the local community to come up with regionally appropriate water harvesting solutions. The students are working on this project as part of their 4th year Capstone Design Projects. The trip included several meetings with village leaders, and local NGO’s to help gather information and data on their proposed potential projects. At the end of the trip, the students gave presentations to community members to receive feedback on potential projects. This is a multi-year project in which Dr. Basu will return to Tanzania with students in the future.
